CHROME PLATED HARTS began in 1999 with one dream of 2 women who envisioned that one day there would be a unique motorcycle club for women. The club name came from a song written in 1988 from a well know singer/songwriter Melissa Etheridge. So...with a lot of patience and hard work, a club was finally formed. We have grown and relocated to other states including NC & FL and are anxious to have more women join this organization. We would love to create regional chapters across the United States and even internationally!

In Memory Of

Tonya Parham, 33, died Feb. 9 as the result of a motorcycle accident. Tonya was also known as S.ASS and was an active member of the Chrome Plated Harts Motorcycle Club, a group for female motorcyclists. A funeral service for Tonya was held Feb. 17 at the Good Shepherd Baptist Church in Petersburg, Va., where her father lives. An Atlanta memorial service was held Feb. 25 at Park Tavern. More than 300 people attended.

“She was the first to reach out her hand and introduce herself,” said Paula Lorenz in an interview with Southern Voice. Paula met Tonya through Chrome Plated Harts. “She’d go out and find other people who were interested in what we do. She was our entertainment.”

Tonya was quick to lend herself to any cause she deemed worthy. She was involved with fundraisers for organizations such as the ALHI, working security for Atlanta Pride and attending events benefiting Pets Are Loving Support and the Human Rights Campaign. Tonya died doing something that she loved. Riding was one of her favorite pastimes.

Much thanks to the ALHI for the report.
